DANTE'S PEAK: 7

Actually a better first half than second. The pre-disaster plot moved along fairly well although a few more seismology facts and explanations would have made it more interesting for me. Once the disaster started, it adopted the same disaster movie plot that has been done too many times, actually managing to drag out the number of impossible escapes by the stars a couple too many times for my taste. A few occasional laughs and smiles. Some very good special effects that would probably not be the same unless viewed on the big screen.

Cinema Description: Rated: PG-13

In a small Pacific Northwest town, recent seismic activity leads a volcano scientist to believe the entire area may be in serious danger. Facing the skepticism of government experts, he enlists the help of the town's mayor in attempting to warn the residents before it's too late and the molten lava begins to flow. Pierce Brosnan and Linda Hamilton star in this modern-day disaster movie.
